Cellulite. The word immediately triggers a reaction from the 90% of women (and 10% of men) who grapple with this troubling condition. Multiple factors – including skin laxity, body fat, and sun damage – contribute, but you likely want to know how to get rid of cellulite. Diet and exercise are rarely enough on their own. But don’t worry. At Spa West in Westlake, OH, we offer an exciting solution, Emtone, that at once targets the different causes of cellulite.
What Is Emtone?
- Reduce muscle spasms
- Ease some types of physical pain
- Increase local circulation
What makes ET unique when compared to other cellulite treatments? It is the first and only device to combine thermal and mechanical energies to treat every contributing cause of cellulite, including:
- Poor blood flow
- Loss of skin elasticity
- Rigid collagen fibers that lead to dimpling
- Enlarged fat chambers under the skin
- Metabolic waste that accumulates under the skin
An Easy and Straightforward Treatment
We’re taking this opportunity to erase your concerns. To be blunt, ET does not hurt. Clients often compare the treatment to a hot stone massage because it gently but effectively warms tissues. ET also adds mechanical vibrations that are felt once the device touches your skin. No downtime is involved, and because treatment is pain-free, you can resume your daily activities immediately following your session.
We’ll use a consultation appointment to design a treatment plan that meets your unique needs. Most patients need four session that each last about 20 minutes and are scheduled over a period of two to four weeks.
Understanding the Differences Between ET and Emsculpt
We also offer ET’s sister treatment, Emsculpt. With that in mind, you might be wondering how the two therapies differ. ET is designed to create “toned, not textured” skin. In other words, you’ll see smoother, silkier tissues free of cellulite. Many patients who have previously tried squats, running, and even extreme diets (which we don’t recommend) see great success with ET.
Emsculpt, on the other hand, is a non-surgical, FDA-approved treatment designed to build and sculpt muscles in areas like the calves, thighs, arms, buttocks, and abdomen. It creates rapid muscle contractions not possible with voluntary contractions. The body experiences internal restructuring that presents gorgeous external results – including a more toned appearance. Many patients see results after just one session.
How It Works
Popular Treatment Areas
- Inner and outer thighs
- Front and back of the thighs
- Knees
- Abdomen
- Love handles
- Buttocks
- Upper arms
The Advantages of Treatment
Besides being nonsurgical and noninvasive, treatment with ET is fast and effective. It can successfully target mild to moderate cellulite dimples and, at the same time, tighten skin tissues for a sexier and more svelte appearance. Treatment is also suitable for all skin types.
What to Expect
During treatment, we place a grounding pad on your back and carefully glide the ET device over targeted areas. As the handpiece moves across your skin, you’ll experience a warming sensation (as mentioned earlier). This is perfectly normal and means your tissues are rising in temperature – as expected.
But the ET device is highly sophisticated. It includes an automatic shut-off feature to ensure temperatures never exceed 111 degrees Fahrenheit. This keeps you safe and ensures you stay comfortable throughout the session.
Your Results
ET ignites your body’s natural healing processes. In other words, it activates collagen formation and therefore takes a few weeks to show visible results. Be patient, though. Throughout this time, your body is working to reduce collagen by reforming tissues. You can expect to see a difference in skin dimpling after just one or two treatments. Your final results will then develop in about 12 weeks.
Every person responds a little differently to ET. Having said that, you may need a maintenance treatment once every quarter or year to retain your results. We’ll discuss this in greater detail during your consultation, and we can identify an appropriate maintenance schedule after we see your results. Clinical studies show that ET leads to a:
- 64% increase in elastin
- 59% increase in elastin
- 44% increase in skin thickness
